Taiga Adult Gymnastics

Discover the Joy of Adult Gymnastics

Life often leaves little room for ourselves. Work, studies, family, and daily responsibilities can easily push our own wellbeing to the side. That’s exactly why our Adult Gymnastics class exists! An hour in the week that is entirely about you: your posture, your core strength, your mobility, and the way your body moves.

At Taiga Gymnastics, we see adult gymnastics through the lens of wellbeing and joy. Each class is a balanced mix of rhythm and calm, mobility and muscle strength. You won’t find high-intensity drills or endless running here—sweat comes instead from full-body movement: flowing exercise sequences, balance work, and step combinations that also challenge your memory and focus.

And because we’re adults, we never forget the importance of play. You’ll explore balances at your own level, try simple (or more advanced) acrobatic movements, and remind your body of the thrill of handstands, cartwheels, or rolls—always in a safe and supportive way. No high beams here, but our soft beam helps reawaken balance in a gentle yet fun manner.

This type of exercise develops coordination, posture, circulation, and shoulder mobility (yes, sometimes with the help of sticks). It strengthens your core and reintroduces you to muscles you may not even know you had. And while the pace is calm and mindful, you might just discover a pleasantly sore body in the days after class!

Why Adult Gymnastics Matters

  • Posture & Core Control: Sitting and screen time weaken posture. Gymnastics restores alignment and strength.

  • Balance & Mobility: These are key for healthy aging and help prevent injuries.

  • Memory & Focus: Coordinated sequences practiced with music challenge both body and brain.

  • Stress Relief & Joy: Movement in rhythm with music is proven to support mental health.

We invite you to try it yourself. Join us for a free trial class on October 16th at the Weber Center. Leave your email HERE and we’ll send you a reminder.

Adult Gymnastics classes officially begin the first week of November as part of Skokie Park District’s Fall 2 session. Don’t miss this chance to rediscover movement, strength, and joy, designed just for adults.
