A New Kind of Gymnastics on Chicago’s North Shore

Taiga Gymnastics was founded in 2024 with a mission to bring a new kind of gymnastics to Illinois. We began in Glencoe, and by fall 2025, our classes will reach three locations across the Chicago North Shore: Glencoe, Skokie, and Lincolnwood.

Our foundation lies in Finnish Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG), a beautiful and expressive form of group movement focused on posture, coordination, and rhythm. With over 20 years of coaching and club development experience in Finland, our founder introduced AGG to Illinois, making Taiga the very first authentic AGG club in the state. In our first year, we’ve steadily grown to offer recreational AGG classes to children of all levels—and we’re just getting started.

In the 2025–2026 season, our programs will serve children from age 3 all the way to teens, with weekly training that emphasizes joyful learning and personal growth. We're also expanding into adult gymnastics in both Glencoe and Skokie. While there is no competitive pressure, our students have the chance to perform in Taiga’s seasonal shows twice a year—building confidence and community.

At Taiga, we believe in safe, high-quality, and child-centered gymnastics. We collaborate closely with the AGG USA Federation and follow the high standards of the Finnish Gymnastics Federation and Finnish Olympic Committee. Our goal is to create meaningful movement experiences for children and families—experiences that foster balance, strength, and lifelong joy in physical activity.
